Activities to support work related learning and enterprise education

 

This pack contains a wealth of materials designed to support learning about work and learning for work in line with the Work Related Learning Strategy for Keystage 4. In addition to that, many of the activities in the learning for work section are based on active group work designed to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes associated with enterprise capability.
The learning about work section explores employment trends, changes in skill requirements in the work place and the impact of technology and globalisation on labour markets. It also explores the meaning of work in people’s lives and the financial rewards associated with work.

The learning for work compromise a range of activities designed to develop team working, problem solving, communication and numeracy skills. A number of the activities involve solving business or community problems to help develop young people’s economic and business understanding.

Containing simple to use lesson plans and all the supporting materials, this pack can be adapted for use across keystage 3 and 4. An invaluable resource for:

• School and college staff involved in delivering work related learning and enterprise education
• Careers and connexions staff involved in these areas and also trying to promote LMI to young people
