These highly visual job information cards are part of the On the Spot series of careers resources for students with special needs. The 200 cards contain hardly any text and a wealth of illustrations making them ideal for poor readers and suitable for use as careers worksheets.
The 200 job information cards are:
- Highly visual, containing detailed drawings of the job, main tools and equipment, uniform and protective clothing and other related jobs.
- Double sided A4, CRCI classified.
- Black & white (easy to photocopy & enlarge).
- Also available on CD for easy searching and printing.
- Also available in 2 versions, on the CD – one which names each picture and one which doesn’t to allow room for students to write on the cards themselves.
- Users are also provided with ideas for suggested uses.
The cards can be used in two ways:
- To stimulate discussion about jobs using visual images, with the support of a teacher or adviser, as part of a guidance process.
- As worksheets which can be adapted for use as part of a careers education programme for students with special needs.
