Job hub is an interactive program which helps users to find, analyse and apply for jobs. With an emphasis on sound advice and clear instruction as to the actions they need to take, the program is designed not to distract users with excessive visual clutter but rather focus them on learning about, and reflecting on, the skills needed to succeed at each stage of the job hunting process. By simply following the instructions on screen users determine their own route through the program. This enables users to move quickly through those sections where they feel they already have sufficients skills and knowledge and to spend longer in those sections where they are struggling and require more help and support.

The program has 5 sections:

• Which job? This section suggests ways in which the user can work out which job they want to go after or, if they have a job in mind, gets them to think about how suitable and available that job is for them.
• Finding jobs and vacancies This section focuses on ways to find vacancies and why it is important to be flexible when job hunting and have a plan of action.
• Targeting your applications This section shows users how to analyse a vacancy, then analyse what they have to offer and work out how well they match up. At the heart of this section is the Matching myself to my vacancy template which can be printed out from the Print Zone.
• Applying for jobs This section helps the user to produce targeted covering letters, CVs and job application forms.
• Going for interviews This section helps the user to prepare for job interviews.

Help sheets, samples and templates can be printed out at every stage to remind users of the things they need to do once they step away from the computer. With a modern look and feel, this programme will appeal to most job hunters of all ages. Whether they are simply looking for a Saturday job or are struggling with a major mid-life career change this programme will guide them through the steps they need to take to become a 1st class job hunter. Ideal for use in careers centres, schools, colleges, training centres or any centres visited by job hunters seeking help and support.
